Aquamonix has been engaged to deliver subsidised telemetry devices in priority areas of the Queensland Murray–Darling Basin (QMDB).
Eligible water users can access support covering the supply and installation of a telemetry device, plus the first 12 months of data services.
The Program
Government-Backed Support for Smarter Water Monitoring
Telemetry requirements are being introduced across selected Queensland Murray–Darling Basin water management areas.
To support eligible water users in meeting these requirements, a government subsidy is available to cover:
Device Supply
Supply of the telemetry device.
Installation
Installation of the telemetry device.
12 Months Data
The first 12 months of data services.
12 Months Support
The first 12 months of remote support.
The Telemetry Uplift Program is funded by the Australian Government and delivered by the Queensland Government. Aquamonix is one of the approved telemetry suppliers engaged under the Program to help eligible water users arrange their subsidised telemetry installation.

Telemetry requirements apply to non-urban surface water meters within specified Queensland Murray–Darling Basin water management areas.

What You Should Know
How does the process work?
- Register your interest and submit your meter details via the Aquamonix website.
- Aquamonix will send you the installation form to complete.
- Aquamonix reviews and confirms your eligibility and schedules your installation.
- An Aquamonix Telemetry Expert installs your telemetry.
- Aquamonix will set you up with real-time data reporting. Your daily water-take data will then automatically be transmitted to the Department.
What if I’m not in one of the 16 eligible water management areas?
Currently, only QMDB surface water users in the stated water management areas are required under the Water Regulation 2016 to install telemetry on certified water meters to improve water management and support sustainable water use.
Outside these areas, the installation of telemetry devices on water meters is not required.
What happens after the first 12 months?
The first 12 months of data services and remote support for your telemetry device are fully subsidised. After that, ongoing data services and maintenance costs become your responsibility, and will be billed directly by Aquamonix with notice given in advance. Standard data service fees are $240 + GST per telemetry device per year.
Who has access to my data?
DLGWV receives your water-take data to support water management and regulatory functions, in the same way it currently works with manual reads.
Do I still need to provide manual meter reads?
Yes, for now. Manual reads are still required to meet statutory reporting obligations during the Department’s transition to telemetry.
Can I get more than one subsidised device?
Yes, the program runs first-come, first-served, so if you have multiple eligible meters, register your interest for each meter as soon as you can.

More Than Telemetry
If Your Meter Needs Replacing, We Make One
Telemetry can only report what your meter measures. If your flow meter is damaged, ageing or due for replacement, Aquamonix manufactures AS4747 Pattern Approved EMFLUX electromagnetic flowmeters here in Australia.
Each EMFLUX flowmeter is individually wet-flow tested and calibrated with its corresponding transmitter at our manufacturing and flow-testing facility in Milperra, NSW. Every meter is calibrated against a NATA-certified master meter across three flow rates, achieving accuracy better than ±0.5%.
